Facebook recruits the elite!
Facebook isn’t playing in the sandbox when it comes to talented staff, which is leaving Google bullying their own shadows.
Facebook has recruited Benjamin Ling; who, for those who don't know, is one of the higher ranked engineers at Google, or should I say, was one of the higher ranked engineers? This is the second elite employee that Facebook has managed to snag from Google’s family over the past recent weeks.
Gideon Yu, who was the CFO at YouTube, joined Facebook in August.
Ling, who graduated from Stanford, umbrella’d Google’s e-commerce inspirations, including Google Checkout and Google SMS.
Of course, as we all know, Google doesn’t like to be outdone, it is said that Google may maybe biting back with an open platform of its own. |

KickApps integrates Joomla into thier online community building platform
With the social networking trend hitting the web with a boom, people are finding themselves becoming more interested in creating their own social networking community rather than just participating in it. Problem is, people dont know where to start...my personal opinion is to start with something like Joomla, which is exactly what KickApps.com has done.
Mashable.com has reported today, that KickApps has added Joomla into their Community Building Platform for all to use, with release of their white paper to boot; this will help inform and guide the newbees coming to the scene.
If you have hopes to grow your online audience and user base, then KickApps is presenting its new open source white label as a way to help you get to that level.
The company has recently raised $11 million in funding, and already has a partnership with Akamai for the provision of social media tools.

Well, we got a few things done over the past few days.
We got the new shop up for the templates along with a few more templates. I am trying to get these completed but us designers never seem to get out sites done. Too busy working on everyone else's ;)
OK, so anyhow, we have the cart, I added some new news feeds into our news area. I added some ecom and leisure ones. Tossed in a sports and entertainment category for those of you who find yourself floating around here on your break.
I have taken out the rambling from the features menu and added articles, to this i also added some more food for thought.
Well, that does me for now. I hope you find some good reading on our site.

Hi there, just wanted to let you all know that I have added a section for OsCommerce, just a quick overview and features list.
I am also working on a comparison chart of gateways to help clients and visitors decide on which best suits their needs.
Next on my list will be a comparison of carts. We promote OSC because it is an open source cart and very flexible to work with, but truth be known, there are other carts out there and so as not to be prejudice, i feel it it only right to draft up something to compare the rest of them. Ok, perhaps not all of them, but the ones that are more widely used ;) Well, that does me for now, back to the grind stone. Input from our visitors is always welcome, we try our best to build this site for you, so feel free to drop us a line if you have something on your mind. Speak soon

Things have been steady here. We’ve been working on the usual variety of projects and markets. Just the way we like it.

Ramblings; I posted a new article in the ramblings section, this one isn’t actually by me. Just thought I should pass it along. It’s a good read. See; The 7 Most Common Marketing Mistakes.
Joomla ; I have also started a new section on the site for Joomla (open source CMS). At his point I have merely put in an overview and a features and add-on pages. I will also continue to develop this area with new features and goodies as we go along. |
